Connectivity was the catalyst for my dive into encaustic medium. Here I take advantage of encaustic’s luminous qualities to depict a cast of representative people in my life that I feel a strong connection with despite the harrowing distance between us. The encaustic allows an odd sort of fleshy realism that brings a soothing touchable quality to the pieces.
